Update 7/9/18 – Mango has been adopted!

Attention bully lovers, meet pretty adoptable deaf girl Mango who is looking for a loving home with someone who will make her a priority, spend time with her, exercise her and always keep her safe.

From Mango – Hi There…Mango’s my name! I’ve been at the Vanderburgh Humane Society since June 28, 2017 (this time… I was already adopted & returned once before that). I’m a very high-energy girl so I definitely need an active committed adopter who will spend time WITH me every day for play and exercise. I stayed with someone for 2 weeks prior to coming here and this person said that I danced by the door when I needed to go out, but still had some accidents inside. And this usually only happened when I was alone. That’s okay — we can work on that!

I’m very social with people but haven’t done well with dogs here at the VHS. It’s almost a sure thing that I will need to be the only pet in my future home. I’m also deaf, so my person will need to be patient and use hand signals rather than verbal commands. I’m food motivated so that should help. And due to my high-energy play, the VHS recommends no children under 5.

I’ve been on several Canines for Cardio Walks since coming here and all of my Walkers agreed that I have lots of energy. One person commented that I was always looking at her for guidance, was very playful and loving and liked to sit in her lap and give kisses. Another person said that I snort like a pig and it’s adorable. I’m a great girl hoping for an active, patient, loving person who wants to include a girl like me into their activities and make me a full-fledged family member. If you might be the one, let’s get together soon!
