Meet sweet 3 year old, adoptable deaf dog Lucy who is looking for a loving home with someone who will cherish her, make her a member of your family and always keep her safe.

From her foster: Our family is fostering sweet Lucy. She is with the Texas Rescue Riders rescue, and was brought to Wisconsin from Houston. Lucy is a 4 year old, 48lb well-mannered pointer mix. She’s been spayed and is up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee includes a free microchip registration and 30 days of health insurance. Lucy is deaf AND she knows some hand signals! What a smarty pants.

We have discovered she knows the “sit” hand command very well, as well as “lay down” and she gives high fives in exchange for tasty treats. We are learning the other hand commands she knows, like “where’s your toy?!”. She likes to play with humans, and will bring you a toy to tug on with her. She enjoys snuggling and resting her sweet head on your lap while you read or watch tv. She loves to watch out the window for big trucks driving down the road and will give a little bark to let you know that she’s spotted one and to get some praise.

Lucy enjoys the company of other dogs, and will take another dog’s lead. For instance, if they get called, she’ll follow along with them to see where the action is (again, such a smartie!) Lucy has a beautiful set of eyes: two different colors! She also has a gorgeous coat. White and a deep dark brown that is almost black on some of her spots. She is a sweet girl who would love to love you.
