Honey came to us as an owner surrender in October of 2016. She is a 3 year old, Boxer/Pit mix, white and brown, and of course deaf. To date, she has been returned three times all with a similar theme of “she is a very active dog,” or “has a lot of energy.” To add to this, is the appearance of separation anxiety. She just doesn’t want to be left alone nor while here at the shelter does she want to go back in her kennel after playing outside. (which is totally understandable.)

However, she does and will get destructive when left alone. Again to speak to the behavior in the shelter, she does destroy bedding or toys in her kennel. It has been reported in the home that when left alone she does get into “things” like trash or onto counters.

We think she just needs a home and a family willing to put in the time to help this sweet girl out. She has many challenges as to why we think she has been getting returned. (i.e. lots of energy, separation anxiety, and being destructive when left alone.) We think with a family willing to put in the work and maybe has another dog she could pal around with, Honey will finally be able to have that forever home. She is otherwise a sweet girl that just needs more attention and someone to really get her and understand her. Please consider adopting Honey. We know there is a great home waiting for her out there. We are willing to even try Foster-to-Adopt. Please consider it. Again, she really deserves it.
