Meet sweet one year old deaf dog Gus who is looking for a loving home with someone who will cherish him and always keep him safe.

From his caregiver: Gus is a 1 year old neutered male who is current on vaccinations. He is a special boy as he is deaf. He was picked up as a stray in Midland, Texas. I came home from work one day and he was sitting on my porch, then greeted me with sloppy kisses. I searched for his owner, but none ever turned up. He must have belonged to someone at some point because he kenneled up perfectly and did not cry throughout the night. I have introduced him to my 4 dogs and he is great with them!

My grumpy senior snapped at him a few times and he just stood there and took it, never showed a single sign of aggression. My cats are terrified of him so they won’t go near him but the couple of times that they did interact, he was not aggressive to them at all even when my male blind cat swatted at him with his claws out. He has been around a two-year-old child one time and with fine around her but just like with any pet, he should be supervised around children because he does play rough sometimes. He is a cuddle bug and just wants to be near you.

Gus would do best in a home with an active owner that loves to play ball and tug-of-war. We are working on getting him fully potty trained but as long as he has plenty of outside time, he has been doing fine.
