Meet adoptable 2-year-old deaf boxer who needs a loving home, preferably with children and another dog as he loves to play and cuddle. Duke needs someone who will make positive reinforcement training a priority so Duke will learn to be the best do he can be. He was raised with children and another boxer in his first home and I was told he was also around cats and other small dogs and exhibited no aggression. He shares his current foster home with a 5-year-old male boxer and two young children (3 and 8) and he is a dream! In his first home, he was allowed to cuddle on the furniture, so this would be a habit that needs to be broken.
He was kept mostly indoors in his first home with only a small backyard so I don’t believe he has much leash training. In his current foster home, he has the freedom to go in and out with a lot of room to run and play.
However, Duke has had no formal training so he needs to find a new home where someone is willing to put in some time and effort to teach him some hand signals and basic puppy manners.
Duke is potty trained and was recently neutered. He does like to chew and needs lots of dog toys to keep him busy. And he does not like to be left alone too long so another dog in the house would be perfect. Duke is a sweet, playful and handsome boy and with a little training, he would be perfect for an active, big family.
