Meet adoptable deaf bully mix Chip who is currently looking for a loving forever home with someone who will become his new best friend and always keep him safe.

From his advocate: Chip is white with underlying black polka dots, one perfect eyebrow and adorably crooked ears! His vetting includes: heartworm test and monthly heartworm prevention, DHPP vaccine, bordetella, monthly flea and tick prevention, neutered and microchipped.

This handsome man was brought into the shelter by road patrol as a stray dog on 3/29/23, he was covered in blood and bite wounds. He received a bath, medical attention and a warm place to recover. We don’t know what he endured before his time with us, but despite the hardship he is a total sweetie! Our medical team has estimated he’s around 5 years old. Chip enjoys long sniffing walks followed by rolling around in the grass on a sunny day. He is extremely affectionate and loves being close to his people and excels at learning hand signals for basic commands including sit, lay down, and shake!

He does enjoy having some dog friends, but being deaf some dogs have a harder time communicating with him but, could potentially join a home that already includes other dogs. Being a deaf dog he would likely do better with older, respectful kids who can understand his handicap and be patient with him. He hasn’t shown any resource or food guarding behaviors.

We would schedule a time to come and meet him, spend some time falling in love and if there is another dog in the home we would schedule a follow up visit to bring the other dogs to meet him.
