Meet sweet adoptable deaf bully mix Button who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will cherish him, teach him new things, become his new BFF and always keep him safe.

From Button/shelter: Hi! My name is Button. One day I was found roaming the streets of Sugar Land, Texas, while an Animal Services Officer was out on another call to help a cat. He spotted me and immediately stopped to see if I could be helped. I ran right up to him because I did need help. I was lost, abandoned really. I arrived at the shelter where the medical staff immediately noticed I was covered in tar.

They worked tirelessly to safely remove the tar that was causing irritation to my skin and coat. I was so thankful. It was at that time that the staff realized I couldn’t hear very well. After verifying with a few field tests and reviewing it with our vet, we all decided that I would need to be in a special home due to my partial hearing loss. Luckily, I am not the shelter’s first deaf dog and they knew right away to get my started with sign language and make sure the public didn’t sneak up on me and spook me. (I am not easily spooked). One thing that is special about me is that I quite enjoy the lessened stimulation from all of the dogs barking at the shelter so, I get a lot of rest compared to the other dogs. I am incredibly social and loving. I have never met a stranger I didn’t love. I immediately jump in to human arms and snuggle when I meet a new friend. I don’t seem to mind other dogs. I would love a home that could let me be me, at my best.

I am heart worm negative and in otherwise apparently good health. I have been spayed and vaccinated and I am only a couple of years old. Come and meet me! The shelter has a special program where I can go home for a trial before you decide forever to be my family!!
