Meet adoptable deaf, 1.5 year old Bowman who is looking for a loving forever home with someone who will always cherish him and keep him safe.

My name is Bowman. I was rescue in Mississippi at an early age (approx. 4 – 6 months) by a vet. I had terrible mange because I just wandered the streets and nobody cared about me. I put up a picture below. I lived at this vets office for about 8 months, mostly in a crate so I could heal up. Next part of my life I was sent to a rescue up in New Jersey where a great family fostered me. The man in this family fell in love with me and adopted me. Then he started taking me to work with him and working with me because I was just out of a cage (after a long illness you can call it) and I was full of energy! My energy got me in trouble with a few of the other foster dogs in this home because I can’t hear when they are mad at me and start to growl. I did get into a scrap with one of them over a chewy and ended up with 12 stitches in my head. A lot of my problem is I can’t hear when the other dogs growl at me and I don’t know when to stop. I just really like to play play play! I’d make a great jogging partner.

So my new best friend, my owner put me into training. I work with this great trainer and she is teaching me great dog skills like heel, sit, stay. Right now we are working on my social skills and my trainer says I am doing very good! She says I am 100% adoptable right now!
But here is my problem. My new owner lives in a house with about 10 other dogs because they do rescue and foster. They tell me I would be better off in a home by myself because of my hearing problem. I am looking for someone willing to take on a deaf guy and maybe to continue my training to keep my mind sharp. Please consider me for your new best friend, I am really very loyal and lovable.
