Meet Astra, an adoptable deaf Lab/Cattle Dog mix who is looking for a home with a family who will spend time with her and always keep her safe.
Astra is a very, very special girl. She is a five year old deaf Lab/Cattle Dog mix.
Astra means “star”, and her name suits her perfectly. She is one of the most wonderful dogs at the Ranch. Did I say special??
She is a graduate of the Paws For Life program. Astra lived with and was trained by inmates at a maximum security state prison, and is Canine Good Citizen certified. She is extremely smart and learns very fast.
She is fantastic with other dogs. When she’s not with other dogs she is self amusing. She loves to play ball and jump into her kiddie pool and splash around with glee. She is the best of Cattle Dog and Labrador retriever. Smart and serious when she needs to be, and can splash and play with the best of them and make you laugh with her goofy antics.
She is a very sensitive dog. She is the kind of dog that really tunes into people, and she looks into you, not at you. She would make a fantastic support or service dog, and possibly a therapy dog with the correct certification. She is very gentle and very affectionate.
