Piper’s Happy Tail by Sean

My wife and I originally took piper in at 6 months old to be our foster because she was losing her home and we didn’t want her to end up in the wrong hands. With the help of Baltimore Bully Crew, a local pit bull rescue that we are board members of, we made sure she spayed and in good health.

Now six months later, Piper is a one year old and we have decided she is not going anywhere. Our other dog, Delilah, has worked heard and earned her Canine Good Citizen Certificate (CGC) and is a therapy dog but training a deaf dog is definitely a learning experience. Piper is now trained on an e-collar and knows many hand signals. She is a very intelligent dog and after putting a lot of time into her training, you would never know she is deaf.

Piper and Delilah “chillin like villians”!

Piper has taught us patience and that showing love is much more important than using the sound of words. She is the best snuggler and she loves affection.

Piper and Delilah share an amazing bond as well. I like to think Piper uses Delilah as her ears. Whenever she sleeps, she makes sure to be touching Delilah. These two girls are inseparable and she even enjoys hanging out or playing with our cats!
