Meet Lennon – NY

Update on 7-5-2012: Lennon will only have his foster home until August first so we only  have a few weeks to network him and get him into a great forever home. They have Lennon training in what’s called “Nosework” so when they ask him to find a certain scent he will signal with his paw when he finds the scent. He is still in upstate NY. Here is his newest video:

Update on Lennon 6-6-2012: Lennon is currently in foster care in Boston MA. Super special amazing…..Deaf Lennon needs a forever home. He is almost done with his training at Click to Zen. He is a whiz at Nosework! He wants to work, he wants to snuggle. So smart! Are you the person for him…his partner? Although he loves playing and hanging out with most other dogs. He may prefer to be the only dog in your home..for now at least And we think a place in the country or at least suburban home.

Lennon is such handsome guy! He made it to Click to Zen for training! Please share with your friends, as he will be needing a home in a few weeks. Lennon would love to have a dog pal to live with (but not a cat). A country home would be nice. He is deaf, is a future Nosework champ and has already passed basic obedience. Stay tuned for his continuing education.

Check out Lennon’s photos taken by Danforth Photography. Great photos!

Lennon is in upstate NY, and the contact person for anyone interested in adopting him is Harriet Zucker of Red Hook Rescue, Brooklyn, NY, at harithspi@gmail.com

Update continued – added 6-6-2012:  He is so the best! From his former foster (he could not stay.not his fault at all) He likes other dogs even more than hot dogs! He would love to show you how focused and patient he is! He loves to learn new tricks, and get lots of affection when he gets it right. An ideal partner for him would be someone who wants to keep training and working with him, and it’s the quickest way into that sweet heart of his! There is no more motivation then getting those pretty hazel eyes looking up at you saying, “What now? What are we doing next?!”

This polar bear follows us around the house sitting at our feet, waiting for some sweet strokes on his soft freckled ears. He is a very strong young man, and will continue to improve his manners with a strong leader to show him the way! Lennon is a supersmart and motivated guy. He has a nose comparable to nothing I have ever seen! ( he will be a champ at Fun Nosework and may even have a carreer as a SAR dog. Or scent detection. ) When I come home from work I can hear him wake up just smelling my scent under the door, quietly waiting for us to be reunited.

He is house trained, and once on a proper schedule can easily hold it for a full days work, and loves his walks when we get back! We have been working vigorously on our loose leash walking, and each day we improve more and more. When we see kids on our walks, he bows his head and sits at their feet, just waiting to be pet!

He would do great in a home with another dog like him, who has a lot of energy and loves to play and run around together. Lennon’s ideal home would be in a more rural/suburban place with lots of land where he can run off that extra energy so he can come home and snuggle afterwards, calm and content.

Lennon wants some wonderful person who is ready to commit to loving him forever! There is nothing quite like a deaf dog, just one extra quirk to fall in love with! come meet him! He is really really special Lennon is now in a great foster in Boston, MA He is going to schoo! WHAT is wrong with this picture???

Lennon, adopted as a puppy, then dumped in a high kill shlter before he was a year old. Spent over a year in boarding…….. adopted by another family and returned after almost two years……….. for no good reason All kinds of promises made, nothing kept yes Lennon is deaf, but no one believes. He is so smart. he has lost some of his obedience training ( they promised to take him to school and never did) they promised he would be part of their lives and he wasn’t . He needs some brush up classes. He is a loving dog. Can we get a family back in the picture? Lennon is currently being fostered in Boston and he is also going to school.
