Meet sweet Keebler. Keebler is a 11 pound deaf 7.5 year old Westie/Chi mix who is nervous in the shelter. He is already neutered and needs a loving forever home. At first the shelter staff didn’t know he was deaf but they recently figured it out which explains why he is a bit on the nervous side around other dogs. He loves people and tends to follow his humans around and seems lost with out human contact. At one time he was probably someone’s companion dog and since FL has a lot of older folks being sent to nursing homes. Many times a nice dog like Keebler being dumped at a shelter means it is usually the family members who dump the companion animals (once they take their parents to a nursing home). Can you imagine how scared and confused Keebler is right now? He needs help now!
