Meet Casper! Casper finally found a home in May but because of a medical emergency in his new adopted family, Casper once again finds himself without a home. Casper is a sweet DEAF 10-month old Terrier mix that has had more than his share of challenges in his young life. The shelter has their trainer Joan working with Casper to teach him sign commands. He has been very eager to learn and it seems like he has just been waiting for someone to show him what to do. He is a very smart boy but needs a loving family who will love him, keep him safe and make a commitment to train and communicate with him. The perfect family would also have a secure fenced yard to keep him safe.
Since Casper is deaf, he needs to live inside with his family. Deaf dogs do not do well left alone chained to a dog house or left in a kennel 24/7. When a deaf dog can’t hear or see their family members they become stressed. If you want to know more about owning a deaf dog, be sure to click here and read our “Happy Tail” section here on DeafDogsRock.com.
Owning a deaf dog is not for the faint of heart. If you have the will and commitment to give Casper the home he deserves, stop by and visit with him at the Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter in Manahawkin, NJ.
