Deaf Dogs Rock – it all started with an abandoned deaf boxer pup named Nitro (click here to read his story).

In a little over six years Deaf Dogs Rock has grown and evolved from a family wishing to help others by providing information to a non-profit organization run by a board of directors, approved by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity. International reach, hundreds of dogs saved, a community of 76,000+ sharing support, it has been a pleasure and we are incredibly excited about the future of the organization.

As a non-profit charitable organization, Deaf Dogs Rock will always be 100% transparent to the public. On this page you’ll find our mission statement, our organizing documents, and a brief introduction to our board of directors.

Deaf Dogs Rock, Inc is a non-profit corporation formed in 2012 in the state of Virginia. The mission of Deaf Dogs Rock is to support the general public by providing much needed education about caring for, training, and living with a deaf dog.  One of key priorities is to work directly with shelters and special needs rescues across the country by sponsoring deaf dogs out of shelters and into the safe arms of rescue through our Deaf Dogs Rock Rocker Puppy Sponsorship Program. Additionally, Deaf Dogs Rock is a national resource for information serving perspective and current deaf dog owners, and the shelters and rescues that have deaf dogs available for adoption.

501(c)(3)

Deaf Dogs Rock has been approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax-exempt public charity. All donations to Deaf Dogs Rock are deductible under section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code regarding charitable donations.

As we operate solely through the efforts of volunteers and charitable donations, all aspects of our organization will always be transparent to the public.

Below is our letter of determination, organizational documents, and full Form 1023 application for 501(c)(3) status.

Our Deaf Dogs Rock FaceBook Community  is directly involved with our organization by sharing, sponsoring, fostering, and adopting deaf dogs all over the world. They continue to help us with our fundraising efforts so we can continue to sponsor deaf dogs into partner rescues. Our FB community also helps us bring awareness to just how much deaf dogs rock by sharing their heart warming stories and photos about the deaf dogs they live with.

We are also blessed to work with partner rescues across the country who jump into gear and help us out when we reach out to them about an urgent deaf dog/puppy who needs help out of a kill shelter before their time is up.

Our Deaf Dogs Rock Executive Team now consists of three deaf dogs who represent deaf rescue dogs all over the U.S

From L to R: Bud, Nitro and Bowie
